Introduction
This privacy notice applies to anyone who registers to be included as a provider in the ‘Find a professional service abroad’ lists. It explains how we use your data in this service.

What data we process and why
Certain professional services based outside the UK can apply online to be added to the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) ‘Find a professional service abroad' lists.
These are lists of English-speaking professional service providers to help British nationals find support that best suits their needs.
The service collects the following information:
- Your first, middle (optional) and last names
- Your company name and address
- Contact email address
- Phone numbers
- Business details relating to the service you can provide
Some of this data is collected in free-text fields. You should not enter any sensitive information into these fields, for example your medical history, financial information or any other sensitive information.
We will not:
- sell or rent your data to third parties
- share your data with third parties for marketing purposes
We will share your data if we’re required to do so by law, for example, by court order, or to prevent fraud or other crime.

Lawful basis for the processing
Any data collected or processed as part of ‘Find a professional service abroad’ is done so under the lawful basis of consent (opens in a new tab).

How long we keep your data
It is important to all parties to ensure data is accurate and up to date. Therefore following submission of your data, you will be asked annually to confirm that your details are still correct. If you do not respond to this request your data will be deleted from our systems. If you confirm that your details are still correct or provide updates, your data will be updated and retained for a further year.
We may retain certain details relating to a business or provider (for example, the organisation's name and contact details) if linked to complaints or other such exceptional circumstances in line with our legitimate interests to support and protect the general public.

You will be emailed a link which will allow you to update your details on the list.
